Overview of Power Automate Desktop

Introduction:

Power Automate Desktop is a RPA tool that enables you to to automate all repetitive desktop processes. Power Automate Desktop (PAD) comes with a designer wherein you can drag and drop actions for automation.

It provides a web recorder for recording web based applications process and a desktop recorder for recording desktop based application process. 

PAD allows you to  automate both legacy applications such as Terminal Emulator, web based and Desktop based application, Excel, Emails, Files & Folders. It Interact with the machine using application UI elements, Images or Coordinates.

Power Automate Desktop comes with 2 Automation method that you can use either "Attended" or "Unattended"

      Attended                                                                 

•     Manually triggered.                                                
•     Requires human interaction or decisions.                 
•     Sign-in isn't required because the automation assumes that the system is already signed in.

    

   Unattended

•    Automatically triggered.
•    No human interaction or decisions required.
•    Window Sign-in is automated with predefined user credentials.

Note : you can use a combination of attended and unattended automation in your solution.
